Prepare Burger Patties

Marinate the Meat
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, whiskey, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.

Remove the marinated meat from the refrigerator and divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a 10oz burger patty, making a slight indentation in the center to help them cook evenly.
