Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Marinade

In a medium bowl, whisk together the whiskey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and olive oil until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the ribeye steaks in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F or 232°C to 260°C).

  2. 4

    Remove Steak from Marinade

Take the marinated steaks out of the refrigerator and remove them from the marinade. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess marinade and moisture.

  3. 5

    Season the Steak

Season both sides of the steaks with salt just before grilling.

  4. 6

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F/54°C for medium-rare).

  5. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
