Ribs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better tenderness. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). This low and slow cooking method will help to tenderize the meat.

  2. 4

    Wrap the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil, meat side up. Wrap the foil tightly around the ribs, sealing the edges to create a packet.

  3. 5

    Bake the Ribs

Place the foil-wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.

  4. 6

    Add Barbecue Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.

  5. 7

    Broil the Ribs

Turn on the broiler in your oven. Place the ribs back under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
