Louis Dressing

Garnish & Serve

Method

Louis Dressing

  1. 1

    Make dressing

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, prepared horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced shallot, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and hot sauce until smooth and well combined.

  2. 2

Chill the dressing for at least 15 minutes to let flavors meld.

Shrimp & Greens Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare shrimp

If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely. Poach in simmering salted water just until opaque (2-3 minutes). Remove with a slotted spoon, drain, and cool.

  2. 4

    Prepare greens and toppings

Rinse and dry lettuce; shred and arrange on serving plates. Slice hard-boiled eggs, halve cherry tomatoes, slice cucumber, and dice avocado shortly before serving to prevent browning.

Salad Assembly

  1. 5

    Base and arrange toppings

Divide the lettuce among plates. Top with sliced eggs, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and avocado in neat sections for color and texture.

Combine with dressing

  1. 6

    Dress the salad

Toss the cooked shrimp with 2-3 tablespoons of Louis dressing to lightly coat. Arrange shrimp over the greens and drizzle a little more dressing around the plate.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 7

    Finish and garnish

Sprinkle chopped chives or parsley over the salad. Add lemon wedges on the side and place crackers or toasted bread nearby.

  2. 8

Serve with your choice of soup on the side.
