Make filling
In a mixer on medium speed, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, sour cream, vanilla, cocoa powder, and melted dark chocolate; beat until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low after each addition.

Bake cheesecake
Pour filling over cooled crust. Place the pan in a larger baking dish with hot water halfway up the sides (water bath). Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 60–70 minutes until the center barely jiggles.

Cool and chill
Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.

Ganache finish
Heat heavy cream to just simmering. Pour over chopped dark chocolate, let stand 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth. Spread ganache over the chilled cheesecake and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

Bake brownie layer
Pour batter into the crust. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool and optional glaze
Cool completely. If desired, glaze with extra melted chocolate or a thin ganache and let set.

Cut into slices. If using walnuts, sprinkle over the top before serving.

Line a 9-inch mold with ladyfingers along the sides. Melt chocolate and let cool slightly. Whip cream to soft peaks.

Assemble and freeze
Spread mousse into the lined mold, smooth the top, and layer with remaining ladyfingers. Freeze at least 6 hours or until firm.

Unmold onto a plate, dust with cocoa powder, slice and serve.
