Hawaiian Burger Ingredients

Method

Hawaiian Burger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the large onion into rings, and sauté them in olive oil over medium heat until they are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Pineapple

While the onions are cooking, grill the pineapple rings on a hot grill or skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are caramelized.

  3. 3

    Make the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burgers

Grill the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns lightly and then layer each bun with a burger patty, grilled pineapple, sautéed onions, and a drizzle of teriyaki sauce.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Hawaiian burgers hot with your choice of sides.
