Chicken Strips
Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate Chicken
Cut chicken breasts into strips and place them in a bowl. Pour buttermilk over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare Breading
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Bread Chicken
Remove chicken from the buttermilk and let excess drip off. Dredge each strip in the flour mixture, making sure they are fully coated. Shake off excess flour.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry Chicken Strips
Carefully add breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally for even cooking.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with house-made ranch and your choice of sauce.
