Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Season the Ground Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Bacon and Onions

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook 4 strips of bacon until crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Grill the Onions

In the same skillet, add 1 medium onion, sliced into rings. Sauté over medium heat until the onions are caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.

Grill the Burgers

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Grill the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place 1 slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are finishing, place the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, add a grilled burger patty with melted cheese, followed by the caramelized onions, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
