Burger Patties

Buns and Toppings

Method

Preparation of Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently using your hands until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough burgers.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Grilling the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

  2. 4

    Grill the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes on one side without pressing them down. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheddar cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are grilling, slice the hamburger buns in half and toast them on the grill for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a grilled patty. Top with a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato (cut into rounds), pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete.
