Chop Steak
Method
Chop Steak Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well blended. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
- 2
Cook the Patties
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Gravy Preparation
- 3
- 4
Make the Gravy
Pour the beef broth into the skillet with the sautéed onions and mushrooms. Bring to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the skillet. Continue to cook until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Combine Everything
Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over the top. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat everything through.
