Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly under running water. Remove the stems and cut the strawberries into halves or quarters, depending on their size.

  2. 2

    Juice the Lemons

Roll the lemons on the countertop to soften them. Cut the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a blender, add the prepared strawberries along with 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.

  2. 4

    Strain the Mixture

Pour the blended strawberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove the seeds and pulp. Use a spatula to press down and extract as much liquid as possible.

  3. 5

    Add Lemon Juice

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher with the strawberry liquid.

  4. 6

    Dissolve Sugar

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved to create a simple syrup. Let it cool slightly.

  5. 7

    Combine All Ingredients

Add the simple syrup to the pitcher with the strawberry and lemon mixture. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of water and stir well to combine.

Serving

  1. 8

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the strawberry lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves, if desired.
