Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Blackberries and Mint

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of fresh blackberries and 10 mint leaves. Use a muddler to gently crush the blackberries and mint together to release their juices and aroma.

  2. 2

    Add the Spirits

To the muddled mixture, add 2 oz of Whistlepig Piggyback Rye Whiskey and 1 oz of Velvet Falernum. Fill the shaker with ice.

  3. 3

    Shake the Cocktail

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain the Mixture

Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail mixture into a highball glass filled with ice, ensuring to leave the blackberry seeds and mint leaves behind.

  5. 5

    Top with Lemon Soda

Pour 4 oz of lemon soda over the strained cocktail in the glass, allowing it to mix gently.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the drink with a sprig of fresh mint and a few whole blackberries on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!
