Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Green Beans
Wash and trim the ends of the fresh green beans. You can either steam them for about 5-7 minutes until they're slightly tender or blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Mix the Casserole Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.

Combine Green Beans and Mixture
Add the prepared green beans to the soup mixture and stir gently until the green beans are well coated.

Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
