Method
Cranberry Sauce Directions
- 1
Prepare Ingredients
Measure out all ingredients and gather them in one place.
- 2
Combine Water and Sugar
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Add Cranberries
Add the 12 cups of fresh cranberries to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 4
Simmer the Mixture
Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- 5
Add Orange Flavor
Stir in the 1 tbs of orange zest and 1 cup of fresh orange juice into the saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick and 1 tsp of salt.
- 6
Continue Cooking
Continue to simmer the sauce for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat once desired thickness is reached.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Let the cranberry sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a serving dish or jar. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
