Method

Prepare Water

  1. 1

Bring 12 oz (about 350 ml) of filtered water to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and let cool for 1–2 minutes so the water temperature drops to roughly 200°F (93°C). Chamomile and lavender steep best just off the boil to preserve delicate aromatics without bitterness.

Steep Herbal Blend

  1. 2

    Measure and combine

Place the dried chamomile, lavender buds, and any optional lemon balm or rose petals into a teapot, infuser, or heatproof mug.

  2. 3

    Steeping

Pour the hot water over the herbs. Cover to trap steam and steep for 5–7 minutes for a balanced, fragrant infusion. For a milder cup, steep 3–4 minutes; for a stronger, more restorative cup, steep up to 10 minutes.

  3. 4

After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer or remove the infuser to prevent the herbs from continuing to brew and becoming bitter.

Finish & Serve

  1. 5

Stir in 1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup while warm so it dissolves evenly. If using, add 1 tsp fresh lemon juice to brighten the floral notes. Taste and adjust sweetener or lemon to preference.

  2. 6

Pour into a cup. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and a thin lemon wheel if desired. Serve warm. Optionally chill the infusion and serve over ice for a refreshing iced version.
