Fried Seafood Platter Ingredients
Method
Fried Seafood Platter Directions
- 1
Prepare the Breading
In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- 2
Soak the Seafood
In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk. Dip the flounder, shrimp, and oysters into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 3
Coat the Seafood
Dredge the soaked seafood in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is well coated. Shake off any excess breading.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large deep skillet or fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Seafood
Carefully place the breaded flounder, shrimp, oysters, and deviled crab into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side for the flounder and shrimp, and slightly longer for the deviled crab.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the seafood from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
