Method

Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven and Pans

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chocolate malt powder.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool the Cakes

Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Cake

Once cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of caramel sauce on top, then sprinkle with crushed pretzels and pieces of peanut brittle. Place the second layer on top and repeat the process.

  8. 8

    Serve

Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top, sprinkle with more crushed pretzels and peanut brittle, and serve.
