Fries

Method

Preparation of Fries

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Fries

After soaking, drain the water and pat the fries dry using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried fries to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Drain the Fries

Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the fries and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. Season immediately with salt.

Tossing the Fries

  1. 7

    Add Truffle Oil

In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot fries with truffle oil. Toss gently to evenly coat the fries.

  2. 8

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the fries and toss again to ensure even coverage.

  3. 9

    Garnish and Serve

If desired, chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the fries for added flavor and color. Serve immediately while hot.
