Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
Season the Steak
Sprinkle the hanger steak with salt and black pepper on both sides, ensuring an even coating.
- 2
Sear the Steak
In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the seasoned steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to desired doneness.
- 3
Butter-Whipped Cream Cheese
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and butter. Beat with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy.
- 5
Serve
Transfer the whipped cream cheese to a serving dish and set aside.
Truffled Fries
- 6
Prepare Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin fries (about 1/4 inch thick).
- 7
Fry the Potatoes
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 8
Season the Fries
Drizzle the fried potatoes with truffle oil and sprinkle salt. Toss to coat evenly.
Garlic Aioli Preparation
- 9
Mix Aioli Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt until well combined.
- 10
Serve
Transfer the garlic aioli to a serving dish and serve alongside the steak and fries.
