Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest while preparing other components.

Cajun Pimiento Cheese

  1. 3

    Make the Pimiento Cheese

In a mixing bowl, blend together the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced pimiento peppers, Cajun seasoning, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well combined. Set aside.

Fried Onions

  1. 4

    Fry the Onions

In a bowl, toss the thinly sliced onions with all-purpose flour and salt until evenly coated. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated onions in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Spread a generous amount of Cajun pimiento cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Place a cooked patty on top, followed by a layer of fried onions, a spoonful of pepper jam, and a drizzle of hot honey. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
