Burger Patties

Mac and Cheese

Method

Prepare the Mac and Cheese

  1. 1

    Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring continuously. Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the mixture thickens.

  3. 3

    Combine

Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 4

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form into 2 equal patties.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip them.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

Immediately place a slice of American cheese on each patty after flipping. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

Place a burger patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a generous scoop of mac and cheese, crumbled bacon, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.

  3. 9

    Finish

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger, press down gently, and serve immediately.
