Corn Bread

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the diced jalapenos.

Bake the Corn Bread
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool
Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Hot Honey

Prepare Hot Honey
While the cornbread is baking, combine honey and sliced jalapeno in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Strain
Remove from heat, strain out the jalapenos, and set the hot honey aside.

In a small bowl, combine softened butter and honey. Mix until smooth and creamy.
