Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your stone oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce

Spread tomato sauce over the rolled-out dough using a spoon, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, followed by grated Parmesan cheese.

  5. 9

    Add Toppings

Add your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, and fresh basil) as desired.

  6. 10

    Bake Pizza

Carefully transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated stone oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and melted.

  7. 11

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve hot.
