Toppings

Method

Preparing the BBQ Brisket

  1. 1

    Chop the Brisket

Chop the BBQ brisket into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

  2. 2

    Heat the BBQ Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the BBQ sauce over low heat until warmed. Set aside.

Making the Mac & Cheese

  1. 3

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 4

    Make the Roux

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbly and golden.

  3. 5

    Add Milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 6

    Incorporate Cheeses

Reduce heat to low and add the cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir until melted and smooth.

  5. 7

    Season the Cheese Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.

  6. 8

    Combine Pasta and Cheese Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until the pasta is well coated.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Layer the Dish

In a large serving dish, layer the mac & cheese. Top with the chopped BBQ brisket.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle fried onions over the top and drizzle with the warmed BBQ sauce and ranch dressing.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve immediately while warm. Enjoy your BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese!
