Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew Coffee
Brew 1 cup of strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix Coffee and Liqueur
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur. Set aside.
Making the Mascarpone Filling

Beat Egg Yolks
In a large mixing bowl, beat the 4 egg yolks until they are pale and thick.

Add Sugar and Vanilla
Add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolks, and mix until combined.

Fold in Mascarpone
Gently fold in 16 oz of mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not falling apart.

Layer Ladyfingers
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.

Spread Mascarpone Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Finishing Touches

Dust with Cocoa
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.

Cut into squares and serve chilled.
