Juicing the Limes
Cut the fresh limes in half. Use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice from each half into a measuring cup. Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp, if desired. You should have about 1 cup of fresh lime juice.
Make Simple Syrup

Cooking the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool. Store in a clean jar in the refrigerator for up to a month.
