Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F) and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In a saucepan, heat the milk and unsalted butter over medium heat until the butter melts. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Once cooled, stir in the egg and the activated yeast mixture.

4

Combine Mixtures

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

5

Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

6

First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

7

Prepare Filling

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

8

Melt Butter

Melt the remaining stick of unsalted butter and set it aside to cool slightly.

Assembly

9

Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle (about 16x24 inches).

10

Add Filling

Brush the melted butter over the dough and evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

11

Form Rolls

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.

12

Slice Rolls

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

13

Second Rise

Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let the rolls rise for an additional 30 minutes.

Baking

14

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

15

Bake Rolls

Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven.

Frosting Preparation

16

Make Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.

Serve

17

Frost Rolls

Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls.

18

Enjoy

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious cinnamon rolls!
