Method
Preparing the Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rapid boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.
- 2
Cook Spaghetti
Add 200 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions (usually about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
Cooking the Seafood
- 3
Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 4
Add Cherry Tomatoes
Add 200 grams of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften and release their juices.
- 5
Pour in White Wine
Pour in 100 ml of white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
- 6
Add Seafood
Add the shrimp, mussels, and calamari to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and the mussels open up. Discard any mussels that do not open.
Combining Everything
- 7
Mix Pasta with Sauce
Once the seafood is cooked, add the drained spaghetti to the skillet. Toss everything together to combine well.
- 8
Season the Dish
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
- 9
Serve
Plate the seafood pasta and garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
