Chicken Preparation

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate Chicken

Cut the boneless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare Breading

In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne pepper, additional salt, and black pepper. This will be the coating for the chicken.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Coat Chicken

Remove the marinated chicken pieces from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the breading mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.

  3. 5

    Fry Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, ensuring an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

  4. 6

    Drain

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried chicken from the oil. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle fresh parsley over the fried chicken for garnish. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce, such as ranch or honey mustard.
