Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Razor Clams

Rinse the razor clams under cold water to remove any sand and debris. Soak them in salted water for about 30 minutes to help purge any remaining sand, then rinse again.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until well combined.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Scallions

Trim the root ends of the scallions and wash them thoroughly. Cut the scallions in half lengthwise to make them easier to grill.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Marinate the Clams

Place the cleaned razor clams in a large bowl and pour the marinade over them. Toss gently to ensure all the clams are coated. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.

  2. 5

    Grill the Scallions

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the scallions on the grill grates and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are tender and have grill marks. Remove from the grill and set aside.

  3. 6

    Grill the Razor Clams

Place the marinated razor clams directly on the grill. Grill for about 3-4 minutes or until the clams open up. Discard any clams that do not open. Remove from the grill.

  4. 7

    Serve

Arrange the grilled razor clams on a serving platter alongside the grilled scallions. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the top and serve immediately.
