Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork or chicken. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped green onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let cool.

Assemble the Egg Rolls

  1. 3

    Prepare Wrappers

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with a corner pointing toward you.

  2. 4

    Fill the Wrapper

Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly away from you to form a sealed egg roll. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Fry the Egg Rolls

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Side Salad

  1. 7

    Serve the Salad

In a bowl, place the spring mix salad greens. You can drizzle with a little olive oil and vinegar, if desired.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plate and Serve

Arrange 3 egg rolls on a plate with a side of spring mix and serve with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
