Making the Singapore Chili Sauce

Heating the Oil
In a large skillet or wok, heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat.

Sautéing Aromatics
Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Adding Spices and Sauce Ingredients
Add 2 finely chopped red chilies, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Stir well to combine.

Thickening the Sauce
Pour in 1 cup of water and bring the mixture to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Add this to the sauce, stirring constantly until it thickens.

Stir in chopped green onions and remove from heat.

Place the boiled Dungeness crabs on a serving platter and generously drizzle the Singapore chili sauce over them.
