Method
Prepare Rice
- 1
Rinse and Cook Rice
In a medium saucepan, rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Add 2.5 cups of water to the saucepan and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
Prepare Crawfish and Vegetables
- 2
Chop Vegetables
While the rice is cooking, finely chop the green onions, bell pepper, and carrots. Mince the garlic cloves.
- 3
Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the chopped bell pepper, carrots, and green onions. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- 4
Add Crawfish
Add the crawfish tails to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
Combine and Season
- 5
Add Rice and Seasonings
Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and add it to the skillet with the crawfish and vegetables. Stir in the soy sauce, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
- 6
Add Frozen Peas
Add the frozen peas to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the peas are heated through.
- 7
Serve
- 8
Plate and Garnish
Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the crawfish fried rice hot, garnished with additional chopped green onions if desired.
