Preparing the Fish

Clean the Snapper
Rinse the whole yellowtail snapper under cold water. Pat it dry with paper towels. Make three diagonal slashes on each side of the fish to allow for even cooking and seasoning.

Season the Fish
Rub the salt and black pepper all over the snapper, including inside the slashes and the cavity.

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the snapper in the hot oil. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fish and drain on paper towels.

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, lemon juice, and sesame seeds until well blended.
Serving

Plate the Dish
Serve the fried yellowtail snapper on a large platter, topped with the sautéed vegetables. Drizzle sesame-ponzu sauce over the fish and vegetables before serving.
