Method
Preparation
- 1
Trim and Halve Brussels Sprouts
Begin by rinsing the Brussels sprouts in cold water. Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut each Brussels sprout in half from top to bottom.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). This will ensure that the Brussels sprouts roast evenly and develop a nice, crispy texture.
Roasting
- 3
Toss with Olive Oil and Seasonings
In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure all the sprouts are evenly coated.
- 4
Spread on a Baking Sheet
Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a baking sheet, cut side down. Make sure they are arranged in a single layer for even roasting.
- 5
Roast in the Oven
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes, or until the sprouts are golden brown and tender, stirring halfway through.
Finishing Touches
- 6
Add Parmesan Cheese
Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top. The heat will melt the cheese slightly, enhancing the flavors.
- 7
Serve
Serve the roasted Brussels sprouts warm as a delicious side dish. Enjoy!
