Method
Prepare the Tea
- 1
Boil Water
In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Brew Tea
Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves. Reduce heat to low and let steep for about 5 minutes.
- 3
Strain and Sweeten
Remove from heat and strain the tea into a heatproof container to remove the tea leaves. Stir in 1 cup of sugar until dissolved.
- 4
Cool the Tea
Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 30 minutes.
Prepare the Milk
- 5
Mix Milk
In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of evaporated milk with 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Assemble the Drink
- 6
Serve
In a tall glass, add 1 cup of ice cubes. Pour the chilled sweetened tea over the ice, filling the glass about two-thirds full.
- 7
Add Milk
Top off the drink with the prepared milk mixture, pouring gently over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect if desired.
- 8
Garnish and Enjoy
Stir gently before drinking. Optionally, garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of lime for extra flavor.
