Method
Filling Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pork
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Vegetables
Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, sliced green onions, and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- 3
Season the Filling
Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Rolling the Egg Rolls
- 4
Prepare the Wrappers
Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface with one corner pointing towards you.
- 5
Fill the Wrapper
Place about 2 tablespoons of the pork and vegetable filling in the center of the wrapper.
- 6
Roll and Seal
Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly away from you. Use a little water to seal the edge of the wrapper.
Frying
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Fry the Egg Rolls
Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
