Crab Rangoon Filling

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix until well combined and creamy.

  2. 2

    Prepare Wonton Wrappers

Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center of the wrapper.

  3. 3

    Seal the Wontons

Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle or a purse shape and press the edges to seal.

Fry the Crab Rangoon

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Wontons

Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil, a few at a time, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 6

    Drain the Wontons

Once golden brown, remove the wontons using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, and Sriracha (if using). Stir until well mixed.
