Bread Base

Garlic Butter Mixture

Method

Preparing the Garlic Butter

  1. 1

    Soften the Butter

In a medium bowl, let the unsalted butter sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until it is soft enough to spread.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

While the butter is softening, peel and finely mince the garlic cloves using a knife or a garlic press.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Wash and finely chop the fresh parsley. Measure 2 tablespoons after chopping.

  4. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In the bowl with softened butter, add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

Preparing the Bread

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Slice the Baguette

Place the French baguette on a cutting board and slice it in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.

  3. 7

    Spread the Garlic Butter

Take the garlic butter mixture and spread an even layer on the cut sides of the baguette halves.

Baking the Garlic Bread

  1. 8

    Wrap in Foil

Wrap the buttered baguette halves in aluminum foil to keep them moist while baking.

  2. 9

    Bake the Bread

Place the wrapped baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes.

  3. 10

    Unwrap and Toast (Optional)

After 15 minutes, carefully unwrap the foil and return the bread to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to toast the top, if desired.

Serving

  1. 11

    Slice and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, then slice into individual pieces and serve warm.
