Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Puff Pastry

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Spread Almond Butter

Spread the almond butter evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

  3. 3

    Add Toppings

Layer the Mediterranean artichokes, followed by dollops of pesto, gouda, and fontina cheese over the almond butter.

  4. 4

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Remove the casing from the Cumberland sausages and crumble the meat into the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble

Once the sausage is cooked, scatter it evenly over the cheese layer. Add fresh basil leaves and sprinkle with freshly flaked Parmigiano-Reggiano.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

  7. 7

    Prepare Honey Pesto Dressing

In a small bowl, mix together honey and a bit of pesto to create a dressing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and drizzle with the honey pesto dressing. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Slice and serve warm.
