Method
Steak
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook more evenly.
- 2
- 3
Grill the Steak
Preheat your grill to high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).
- 4
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
French Fries
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into long, thin strips to create French fries.
- 6
Soak the Fries
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Drain and thoroughly dry the soaked potatoes. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
- 9
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while they are still hot.
