Method

Cooking Prawns

  1. 1

    Boiling Prawns

In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cooking Time

Add the large prawns to the boiling water and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

  3. 3

    Cooling Prawns

Once cooked, immediately drain the prawns and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Peeling Prawns

Once cooled, peel and devein the prawns, leaving the tails on for presentation.

Making Marie Rose Sauce

  1. 5

    Combining Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 200 grams of mayonnaise, 50 grams of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and a few dashes of Tabasco sauce.

  2. 6

    Seasoning Sauce

Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the Tabasco for desired spiciness.

Assembling Prawn Cocktail

  1. 7

    Preparing Garnish

On a serving plate or in individual cocktail glasses, place 1-2 lettuce leaves at the bottom as a bed for the prawns.

  2. 8

    Adding Prawns

Arrange the peeled prawns on top of the lettuce leaves.

  3. 9

    Adding Sauce

Drizzle the prepared Marie Rose sauce generously over the prawns.

  4. 10

    Final Touches

Garnish with lemon wedges and sprinkle with paprika for an added touch of flavor. Serve immediately.
