Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients including house pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing, and marbled rye bread.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Lightly toast the marbled rye bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown. This will help keep the sandwich from becoming soggy.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

On one slice of toasted marbled rye bread, layer 4 oz of house pastrami, followed by 1/2 cup of sauerkraut. Place 2 slices of Swiss cheese on top of the sauerkraut.

  2. 4

    Add Dressing and Top Bread

Spread 1/4 cup of Thousand Island dressing on another slice of toasted marbled rye bread. Place this slice dressing-side down on top of the sandwich.

Grill the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Cook the Sandwich

In a skillet over medium heat, grill the assembled sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.

Serve

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Once grilled, remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot with extra Thousand Island dressing on the side for dipping.
