Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Select a lowball glass or an Old Fashioned glass and place it on your work surface.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Sugar

Add the sugar cube to the glass. Pour 1 teaspoon of water over the sugar and add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. Use a muddler or a spoon to crush the sugar cube until it dissolves in the bitters and water mixture.

  3. 3

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with 3 ice cubes, ensuring they sit on top of the muddled mixture.

  4. 4

    Pour the Bourbon

Measure 2 ounces of bourbon using a jigger and pour it over the ice in the glass.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Take a piece of orange peel, hold it over the cocktail, and gently twist it to release the oils. Drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.

  6. 6

    Serve

Stir the cocktail gently with a bar spoon to combine the ingredients. Enjoy your classic Old Fashioned cocktail!
