Melt the Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate together over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In the melted chocolate mixture, add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until completely blended. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Baking
- 5
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 6
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Let the cakes cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges of each ramekin, then invert onto individual plates. Serve immediately for a gooey molten center.
