Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Clams

Rinse the littleneck clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 3

    Add Clams and Herbs

Add the cleaned clams to the pot along with chopped parsley, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Steam the Clams

Cover the pot and increase the heat to high. Steam the clams for about 5-7 minutes, or until all the clams have opened. Discard any clams that remain closed.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Remove the pot from heat. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the clams to taste. Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the delicious broth.
