Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the bone-in rib-eye steak generously with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add sliced onions. Sauté until they are caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Add the wild mushrooms and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Make the Potato Purée

While the steak is resting, boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter, salt, and a splash of milk, then mash until smooth.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Chef's Vegetables

Steam or sauté the chef's vegetables until tender yet crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slice the rib-eye steak and serve it on a plate with sautéed onions, wild mushrooms, potato purée, and chef's vegetables.
