Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large pot over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Stir in the diced potatoes, clams, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  4. 4

    Add Cream and Seasonings

Once the potatoes are tender, stir in the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Ladle the chowder into bowls, garnish with cooked bacon and chopped parsley, and serve hot.
