Cool the Tea
Remove the tea bags and allow the sweet tea to cool to room temperature.

Combine Ingredients
Once the tea is cooled, pour it into a large glass or ceramic container. Add 1 cup of starter tea and gently place the SCOBY on top.
Fermentation Process
- 4
Cover and Store
Cover the container with a clean cloth or coffee filter secured with a rubber band. Place it in a warm, dark place (around 75-85°F or 24-29°C) for 7-14 days.
- 5
Taste and Decide
After 7 days, taste the kombucha. If it’s too sweet, let it ferment longer until it reaches your desired tartness.
Flavoring and Bottling
- 6
Add Flavor
Once the desired taste is achieved, remove the SCOBY and set it aside. For Ginger Turmeric kombucha, add 1 tablespoon of grated ginger and turmeric. For SuperBerry kombucha, add 1 cup each of raspberries, blueberries, and sliced strawberries.

Second Fermentation
Leave the sealed bottles at room temperature for 3-7 days to carbonate. Check daily to ensure they do not explode.
- 9
Refrigerate and Serve
After the second fermentation, refrigerate the bottles to stop the fermentation process. Serve chilled and enjoy!
