French Toast

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Creme Brulee Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the Bread

Place the thick slices of brioche bread into the mixture, allowing them to soak for at least 5 minutes on each side to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sear the French Toast

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the soaked brioche slices to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Toppings

While the French toast is cooking, prepare the fresh berries and whipped cream. Set them aside.

  3. 5

    Caramelize the Sugar

Once the French toast is cooked, sprinkle granulated sugar evenly on top of each slice and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it bubbles and turns golden brown.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Place the caramelized French toast on a plate. Dust with powdered sugar, top with fresh berries, and add a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
